| The church building is
often described as God's House and we believe that on God's House
everybody should be able to feel relaxed and at home. Church should not be
a "Shush! Be quiet" place, but a place where children know they are
welcome and can enjoy themselves.
Too often when families come to
church, the parents leave completely stressed out from having to contain
the children; going to church can be anything but a relaxing experience!
At both our churches, St Alban's, Wood Street Village and St Mary's,
Worplesdon, we want children to be able to worship God in their own way.
We have many different activities
within our churches for children. Some of them are mentioned on this site.
Within the churches there are toy bags for those children who prefer to
stay in church with their parents. We are also developing a children's
corner in both our churches, and parents - we also have toilets with nappy
changing facilities!
We very much hope that you and your
children will enjoy coming to our churches and soon come to feel part of
the worshipping community in our parish. You will find further information
on our children's activities on this website, but if you have any other
ideas to help us improve our welcome for children and families then please
let us know. |
