Now Andrew, Wendy and Anna have moved to Portishead, the PCC have now formally approved the parish profile and the Statement of Needs and has asked the Patron to advertise the post of Rector.

The advert will go into the Church Times in early June and the deadline for applications via the Archdeacons' PA in Diocesan House, Guildford will be 3rd July. (Click the picture to see the advert)

Shortlisting will then take place and applicants invited for interview on 8th and 9th September. Interviews will be carried out by a panel consisting of the Bishop, Archdeacon, Patron's Representative, the two Worplesdon Church Wardens (lay representatives of the PCC) and a further person from the Bishop's ofice.

If a suitable candidate is found and satisfactory references, CRB check and health checks are carried out AND the candidadte accepts the post, they are likely to have to give 3 months notice at their current post. We could be seeing a new Rector by the end of the year but more likely in early January 2010.

Welcome! Our two churches St Mary’s, Worplesdon and St Alban’s, Wood Street Village are dedicated to serving the communities of Worplesdon, Fairlands and Wood Street Village – we hope our parish is like a "light set on a hill"

Services range from the quiet contemplation of daily morning and evening prayer through to Weekly Parish Communion services at both churches on Sunday or if you fancy exploring something a little bit different try our monthly iWorship.

Vibrant and energetic, our children are an integral part of parish life who are free to worship in their own way. We love welcoming them with many different activities from toy bags to Sunday clubs as well as our monthly Family service – come and find out!
