New Rector Instituted and Inducted

Added on Tuesday, June 1, 2010

The Rev Hugh Grear and his family were formally welcomed to the Parish of Worplesdon on Tuesday 1st June at 7.00pm. The service in which the Bishop of Guildford and the Archdeacon of Surrey confirmed Hugh's new position as the Rector of the parish of Worplesdon St Mary the Virgin, was followed by light refreshments and a chance to meet Hugh and his family at Worplesdon Memorial Hall. We were also priveledged to meet about 20 of Hugh's old parishioners from Upper Tooting.

The new rector enjoyed a busy first week with Corpus Christi on the Thursday, two weddings on the Saturday and 8.00am, 9.15am, 10.45am, two christenings and a Healing service on the Sunday - keep up the good work Hugh!

Welcome to Worplesdon Parish

Welcome! Our two churches St Mary’s, Worplesdon and St Alban’s, Wood Street Village are dedicated to serving the communities of Worplesdon, Fairlands and Wood Street Village – we hope our parish is like a "light set on a hill"

Services range from the quiet contemplation of daily morning and evening prayer through to Weekly Parish Communion services at both churches on Sunday or if you fancy exploring something a little bit different try our monthly iWorship.

Vibrant and energetic, our children are an integral part of parish life who are free to worship in their own way. We love welcoming them with many different activities from toy bags to Sunday clubs as well as our monthly Family service – come and find out!

St Mary's and St Alban's

Worplesdon PCC has a regular schedule of services at both St Alban's and St Mary's, details of Special Services throughout the year can be found on our Calendar of Events.
